About

Ananda.

Fifteen years of sound design, a degree from audio engineering school, and instruments I tune, measure and build myself. All of it goes toward one thing: using sound to create the space where healing can happen.

01 / The approach

The sound isn’t the magic.
It makes room for it.

I don’t give you anything. I remove. We slow down, step out, and let the everyday noise stop dominating — and what’s needed fills the space that opens. For some people that’s rest. For some it’s release, clarity, or something that doesn’t have a name yet.

I won’t claim that sound triggers a healing process. What I will say is that it creates the opportunity for inner healing, however it comes out — and that I stay with you, steady and calm, while things rearrange.

02 / What the research says

Early evidence,
honestly reported.

The research on sound baths is young and small-scale, and I’d rather tell you that than oversell it. What it does show is encouraging:

Mood and tension. In a study of 62 adults, people reported significantly less tension, anger, fatigue and low mood after a singing-bowl sound meditation — with the biggest drop in tension among first-timers. Goldsby et al., 2017 ↗

The body’s rest response. In a randomised controlled trial of 50 adults with high anxiety, singing-bowl sound raised heart-rate variability — a marker of the body’s rest-and-recover system — more than progressive muscle relaxation or no intervention. Rio-Alamos et al., 2023 ↗

The honest caveat. A systematic review found only a handful of rigorous studies and called for more. Stanhope & Weinstein, 2020 ↗

03 / What people say

In their words.

“It truly felt like it was tailored just for me and what I needed in that moment. It sent me elsewhere and created such a powerful lasting effect after the session.” — Hanna F.

“He tunes into the space he is using and aligns both his sound creations and the way he moves around the space with his instruments to the natural acoustics of the space.” — Jessica B.

“He is exceptional at creating safe, healing spaces in both one-on-one and group settings.” — Kristina Y.

04 / Two practices, one person

Stillness here. Movement there.

Ananda Vibrational Sound Healing is the sound-healing practice: private sessions, group sound baths, private group sessions, integration or preparation, and festival stages. Ananda Mandala is the DJ side, with its own home at anandamandala.love. Sometimes an ecstatic dance ends in a sound bath, and the two meet. Handmade instruments are on their way to the shop.
